David
Stenhouse is Vice President/Director of Operations
of Computer Forensics Inc. (CFI). CFI, founded
in 1994, is a pioneer in the science of computer
forensics and the practice of electronic discovery.
CFI combines the expertise of computer, litigation,
and records management specialists to locate,
collect, and analyze evidence found on backup
tapes, hard drives, servers, and email systems.
CFIs expert services include discovery consulting,
cost containment, expert testimony, and e-risk
management services, with extensive expertise
in data preservation, 30(b)(6) deposition, and
discovery motion assistance.
Mr.
Stenhouse is responsible for the management of
CFIs forensic specialists, technicians,
and case managers. Representative computer forensics
cases include product liability, trade secret
theft, employment law, contractual disputes, electronic
document authentication, bankruptcy, insurance
claim disputes, intellectual property, and shareholder
class action and antitrust litigation matters.
Mr.
Stenhouse is a former Special Agent in the United
States Secret Service. From 1998 to 2000, he was
assigned to the Electronic Crimes Special Agent
Program (ECSAP) where he conducted investigations
involving the use of electronic data in crimes.
In his experience as a Special Agent, Mr. Stenhouse
executed federal search warrants to perform seizures
of numerous computer systems and completed in
excess of 80 individual forensic examinations
of the contents of those systems. His investigations
included counterfeiting of U.S. currency, credit
card fraud, organized crime, computer crimes,
rape, and arson. Mr. Stenhouse investigated protective
intelligence issues for the President of the United
States, Vice President, and their respective families.
He also conducted security advances for foreign
and domestic Heads of State and was routinely
assigned as a shift agent, providing round-the-clock
protection to U.S. Secret Service protectees in
the United States, Europe, Canada, the South Pacific,
and the Middle East.
Prior
to his employment with the U.S. Secret Service,
Mr. Stenhouse served as a State Trooper with the
Washington State Patrol, serving as a line consultant
in the implementation of the Washington State
Patrols Mobile Computer Network (MCN), where
line troopers were enabled to perform checks through
the use of a laptop computer installed in patrol
vehicles. He also conducted investigations in
over 600 vehicle collisions, including fatal and
hit-and-run investigations. His arrests included
crimes of narcotics possession, DUI, and first-degree
assault.
Mr.
Stenhouse has extensive experience in the criminal
and civil court process and evidentiary chain-of-custody
issues. He has testified in State and Federal
court in numerous criminal and civil cases, and
has testified in Federal court as an expert witness
in computer-generated evidence. His interviewing
and interrogation training from John E. Reid &
Associates provided the foundation for his extensive
experience in the interviewing and interrogation
of suspects in criminal cases and protective intelligence
issues.
